Daniel (he/they) is a neurodivergent writer/actor/ginger currently based out of Northern Ohio.
He has a special fondness for absurdism, folklore, and horror, but ultimately loves plays about honest people (or talking animals) in situations he hasn't seen before. When not gleefully giving their soul to artistic endeavors and projects, they legitimately enjoy long walks on the beach, video games with local co-op, and biscuits.
His full-length plays include ALTITUDE, BEREAVEMENT LEAVE, and PIT, a part of the ’24-25 season of the Inkwell Theater’s Development LAB. Their cosmic horror, IN THE SLUSH, was a Finalist for the 2023 Princess Grace Award and is published with Ghost Light Publications. Their one-acts, FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY (THE BREAD PLAY) and YOU SEE THEM IN THE CORNERS OF YOUR EYES, have been produced at colleges and schools throughout the US.
Daniel is an alumnus of the University of Virginia and a proud member of the Dramatists Guild.
I first found For a Limited Time Only (The Bread Play) on New Play Exchange and it hasn't escaped my mind since. Containing many elements found in No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre, but with a modern twist on the inescapable setting, I couldn't resist this play for Bumpy Chalice's second production. I am known by friends and fellow artists for my commitment to the bit, which was put to the test as director of The Bread Play. How much bread-based comedy could we put in a romantic horror play? By the end of the rehearsal process, autocorrect had turned against me, changing many b-words in my phone to "bread." At this point, ironically, the bread has consumed me instead of the other way around. I hope you will soon understand.
Isaac Sten
Director
Isaac Sten (they/them) is thrilled to direct their second play with Bumpy Chalice, after What Happened While Hero Was Dead last summer. They have a B.S. in Theater Arts From PSU, where they were the president of the theatre group STAGE, and are now living their best life putting on plays with their friends. They would like to thank Ronnie and Marion for driving them around, and everyone involved for teaching them how much bread could a bread hell bread if a bread hell could hell bread. They also apologize to their many gluten intolerant friends though they have chosen this play in spite of them.
Ronnie Rantis (he/him) is a recent graduate with a BA in Theatre Arts from Portland State University. He works professionally as a lighting designer, theatrical electrician and production manager in Portland and surrounding areas. Recently he has worked as a lighting designer for The Portland Revels: Little Lights, Bumpy Chalice: What Happened While Hero Was Dead, Imago Theater: Salomé and Happyness and Clackamas Repertory Theater: Damn Yankees. He has also worked as a stagehand for many shows including Slipknot 2022 and 2024, Cirque du Soleil Alegria and Kooza, Blake Shelton 2024 and Taylor Swift The Eras Tour.
Liz Kinnard (she/her) is finishing her last semester at PSU pursuing a BA in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. Liz performed internationally in 2019 at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland for a production of Adventures of a Comic Book Artist (Zena). Her high school theatre worked in conjunction with TADA! Theatre company basted in NYC and produced musicals such as Lion King (Grass Chorus), You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (The Little Red Headed Girl), and Mamma Mia! (Ensemble). This is Liz’s second production with Bumpy Chalice and is grateful for the opportunity to work with them again. Offstage, she has been involved in various aspects of production, including costume management, sound and light technician, playwriting and directing.
Chris Raible (he/him) is a graduate of Portland State University where he majored in communication studies and participated in activities with PSU's theatre club, STAGE. In addition to acting in shows with STAGE (The Trail to Oregon) and Portland Community College (Jesus Christ Superstar), he also had the honor of stage managing the world premiere of Shelf Life at Hillsboro Artists' Regional Theatre. In his free time, he enjoys dog sitting and playing far too many mobile games. He would like to thank his wife for her unending love, support, and willingness to practice awkward choreography with him. He would also like to thank his equally supportive parents for agreeing not to come see him in this particular production.
Jeff Woodbridge (he/him) has been an actor and director for 25+ years. This year he has specialized in playing nameless characters having been seen as The Taxi Driver in The Drag and Man #2 in The Temperamentals, both at Twilight Theater. He is thrilled to play anonymous once again with The Server. His other work has been seen in New York, Seattle, and Philadelphia. Thanks to Isaac, Marion, Chris, and Liz for the fun, the laughs, and the gluten.
Marion Dawn Hazelwood (they/them) loves hats. They love all sorts of hats and love them so much that they often get caught wearing several at a go. Today they’re sporting two of their newer hats, Intimacy Coordinator and Stage Manager, to their first show with Bumpy Chalice! Marion is pleased as punch about it, and thinks they look quite dashing in them. The great folks at BC have been terribly affirming about it, and chosen not to burst their bubble. In Marion’s closet you’ll also find hats for costume design, playwriting, directing, AD-ing, props design, and wardrobe management (and, yes, acting and dancing). Throughout their 31 years of theater work, from teaching in the Caribbean, to costuming in Alaska, and graduating with a theater degree from PSU, they’ve never lost their wide eyed awe or deep love of the art. Or of hats.
Madilyn Dyche (she/they) has had a great time bringing bread to this play for a limited time—a bread p(l)an, if you will. This is their second show doing props with Bumpy Chalice, and they are extremely grateful to Isaac and Ronnie for their support throughout the process and for this opportunity. Madilyn has also worked on numerous productions at Portland State University, where they are completing their BA in Theatre. Special thanks to their cat for making the bread-making process take much longer than expected.
Jaime Fields (she/her) has been backstage or in the booth of a variety of theatres since her sophomore year of high school. Recent shows include Sauced Shakes: Romeo & Juliet (director) and Julius Caesar (stage manager) with Canon Shakespeare Company; Jeeves at Sea (sound designer) with Magenta Theater; Alone, Broken, Afraid (playwright) with Chapel Theatre; and Fezziwig's Fortune (sound designer & booth operator) with Twilight Theatre. She hopes you enjoy the show--it's the yeast you could do!
Isabella “Bella” Giordano (she/they) a classically trained actor, director and fight choreographer. She just recently moved to the PNW to continue pursuing her love for the stage! Last year they founded Rotten in Denmark Productions where she is currently producing/fight directing and performing in King Lear. Some of Isabella’s favorite Shakespeare roles include Hermione in The Winters Tale, Macduff in Macbeth, and Mark Antony in Julius Caesar. With a goal of helping actors stay safe and steady, they hope to continue to meet awesome theatre folk like the ones right here in Bumpy Chalice Productions! She is looking forward to continue living this life long dream of creating art!
Danni (she/they), a seasoned costume designer with seven years of experience under her belt, is thrilled to add For a Limited Time Only (The Bread Play) to her ever-growing repertoire. Fueled by a lifelong love of carbs and characters, they’ve crafted each look to reflect the show’s deliciously absurd tone, complete with just the right amount of crusty edge. From Firebringer to Mr. Burns to Ride the Cyclone, Danni continues to explore the strange, the theatrical, and the wonderfully bizarre. She’s so excited for audiences to dig in. Enjoy the show!
Ty Nunez (they/them) has a bachelor's degree in Theater Arts from Portland State University. While there, they designed the set for PSU’s production of Love and Information and were the co-scenic designer for PSU’s production of Measure for Measure. Outside of PSU, they designed the set for Bumpy Chalice’s production of What Happened While Hero was Dead and were a co-scenic designer for Imago Theatre’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire. Ty would like to thank their husband and family for their love and support, and they hope you enjoy the show!
